Thousands of travellers have spoken: British Columbia's cities and hotels are among the very best the world has to offer.
Condé Nast Traveler, a prestigious and award-winning US travel magazine, recently announced its 21st annual Readers' Choice Awards, and BC has earned top honours. Culled from thousands of surveys submitted by CN's discerning and international readership, the Awards highlight the destinations, lodgings and modes of transportation that truly exceed expectations.
In the Top 100 " Best of the Best" category, the King Pacific Lodge on Northern BC's Princess Royal Island came in at an astounding number 4, while Tofino's Wickaninnish Inn and Long Beach Lodge Resort were ranked at 47 and 67, respectively. The Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre was number 94. Four entries from BC on this list are truly remarkable -- no other Canadian accommodations made the Top 100, and all four placed in the Top 5 Canadian Resorts.
BC cities Vancouver and Victoria also earned high praise, and were listed as second- and fourth-best cities in the Americas. BC's temperate gem, Vancouver Island, was voted the top North American Island vacation spot.
