The following promotion is intended for play in the United States and Canada and will be construed according to US and Canadian law. Please do not enter if you are not located in the U.S. or Canada.

1. HOW TO ENTER

Sweepstakes begins at 12:00:01 am PT on March 16, 2009 and ends at 11:59:59 pm PT on September 30, 2009. Limit one entry per person/email address.

2. ELIGIBILITY

Entrants must be legal residents of one of the fifty states of the United States (including the District of Columbia) or of Canada who have reached the age of majority in their province, territory or state of residence as of March 16, 2009. Employees of Sponsor, and its affiliates, marketing partners, suppliers, advertising or promotional agencies, and the immediate family members (mother, father, brother, sister, son, daughter, spouse) of, or persons residing in the same household as any such person, are not eligible. All federal, state, provincial, territorial and local laws and regulations apply. Participation in this Sweepstakes constitutes entrant's full and unconditional agreement to and acceptance of these Official Sweepstakes Rules. Participants who do not comply with these rules are subject to disqualification.

3. PRIZE

There is (1) Grand Prize available to be won, having an approximate retail value of $8,000 CDN (approx. $6,400 US based on an exchange rate of $1CDN = $0.80USD). Winner will be required to select one (1) of the four (4) options for the Grand Prize including a Vancouver Island All Inclusive Package; a Whistler Golf Experience Package; EcoSummer Orca-Camp Kayaking Package or an Okanagan Wine Tour Package. The details of each package are as follows:

    2. Round trip economy air transportation for two from Vancouver to Port Hardy, British Columbia
    3. $500 CDN Spending Money
    4. Transfer from Port Hardy to Port McNeil, British Columbia
    5. One (1) night standard accommodation in Port McNeill at the Haida Way Motor Inn, based on double occupancy, including hot breakfast

    4. Five (5) nights standard accommodation at the Burrowing Owl Estate Winery Guest House in Oliver, British Columbia (based on double occupancy)
    5. Tour and tasting at the Burrowing Owl Estate Winery and dinner for two (2) at the Sonora Room

    7. Icewine Discovery Tour at Inniskillin Okanagan
    8. Tour and tasting at Nk'Mip Cellars winery and dinner for two (2) at Passatempo

Prizes are not transferable and must be accepted as awarded with no substitutions, whether in cash or otherwise, except at the Sponsors’ sole discretion. The Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equivalent or greater value if a prize or prize component cannot be awarded as described for any reason. Any difference between the estimated approximate retail value and the actual value will not be awarded. Rental car is subject to meeting rental car eligibility requirements and all optional insurance coverages are the responsibility of the winner. For U.S. residents, taxes, if any, related to the prize are the responsibility of the individual winner. All other costs and expenses associated with the Grand Prize, including without limitations transportation to and from the winner’s residence and the departure airport, proper travel documentation, travel insurance, additional accommodations if required, meals, gratuities, insurance, taxes and items of a personal nature are the responsibility of the winner and his or her guest. Accommodations subject to availability at time of booking and a minimum of 21 days advance reservations are required. If no commercial airport within 100 miles of the winner’s residence is serviced by Air Canada, Sponsor will provide transportation to an airport serviced by Air Canada. Winner and guest must travel together and guest must be of the age of majority in the state, province or territory in which he or she resides. Travel must be completed by September 30, 2010 and restrictions apply. If winner and guest cannot complete travel by date specified, the Grand Prize will be forfeited in its entirety. The above prize descriptions constitute the expected itineraries and details and all aspects thereof are subject to availability and subject to change. Certain activities or properties may not be available at time of travel and Sponsor reserves right to make substitutions of prize elements in its sole discretion. Some additional restrictions apply. Winner will be provided with additional details at time of travel.

4. SELECTION OF WINNERS

On or about October 5, 2009, a random drawing will be conducted by the judges of the Sweepstakes in Vancouver, BC to select one (1) entry from all eligible entries received. All decisions of the Sponsors or their authorized representatives are final and binding in all matters relating to this Sweepstakes. Odds of winning are dependent upon the total number of eligible entries received. The Sponsors or its representative will attempt to contact the selected entrant by phone or email once per day for five (5) business days. If any selected entrant cannot be contacted after five (5) business days, or is contacted but is deemed to be ineligible in the Sponsors’ sole discretion, or unable or unwilling to comply with these rules, that selected entrant will be disqualified and another entry will be drawn. This process may be repeated until one (1) entrant has been declared a winner.

For Canadian Residents Only:
Before being declared a winner, the selected entrant must first correctly answer, without assistance of any kind, whether mechanical or otherwise, a time limited mathematical skill testing question to be administered by telephone at a time mutually convenient for the entrant and Sponsor or promotional agent of Sponsor.

5. RELEASE

Within fourteen days of receipt thereof, the selected entrant will be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and release form confirming compliance with Sweepstakes Rules and acceptance of prize as offered; releasing Sponsor, its agents, and the prize suppliers with respect to injuries, accident, loss or damages relating to the Sweepstakes or the awarding of the prize; and, except where prohibited, acknowledging the Sponsor’s and its agents’, subsidiaries’ or affiliates’ right to publish and/or broadcast the winner's picture, name, address, voices, statements without further compensation other than the prize offered. Winner’s traveling companion will also be required to sign and return a liability/publicity release prior to travel. If prize documents are not returned within fourteen days, prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner.

6. ERRORS, ETC.:

The Sponsors are not responsible for (i) entries which are incomplete or unintelligible; (ii) telephone, technical, network, online, electronic, computer hardware or software failures of any kind; (iii) incomplete, garbled or delayed Internet/e-mail computer transmissions on account of technical problems or traffic congestion on the Internet or at any Web site, or any combination thereof; (iv) any condition caused by events beyond its control which disrupts or interferes with the Sweepstakes; or (v) any injury, loss or damage of any kind arising out of participant's participation in the Sweepstakes or the acceptance, possession or use of the prize, including without limitation any injury or damage to participant's or any other person's computer relating to or resulting from participation or downloading any materials in this Sweepstakes.

The Sponsors extend absolutely no representations or warranties in respect of the prize. If for any reason, the Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned or if the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes is corrupted or adversely affected, including by reason of infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes beyond its control, the Sponsor reserves the right, subject to the approval of Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux, to cancel, terminate, modify or suspend the electronic portion of the Sweepstakes and randomly select the winner from previously received entries. The Sponsor reserves the right, subject to the approval of Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux, to amend the terms of this Sweepstakes without prior notice if any factor interferes with its proper conduct as contemplated by these Rules.

7. WINNERS LIST

For the name of the prize winner, send a self addressed stamped envelope to: Tourism BC – BC Insider’s Guide Sweepstakes Winners List, 250-280 Nelson Street, Vancouver, BC, V6B 2E2. Envelope must be received by November 30, 2009. U.S. residents may omit return postage.

For Quebec residents:
Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation regarding the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement.
